One of the documents you may come across when buying a water tank or evaluating a supplier is the TSEK 304 Certificate of Conformity to Criteria. In this article we explain what TSEK means, which organization issues it and why it matters.
What Is TSEK?
TSEK is the brand of Certificate of Conformity to Criteria that the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) issues for products that have no Turkish Standard. If an official Turkish Standard has not yet been published for a product, conformity to criteria accepted by TSE is documented with a TSEK certificate, and use of the TSEK mark is permitted.
The Difference Between TSEK and a TSE Certificate
While a TSE certificate shows a product’s direct conformity to a Turkish Standard, TSEK documents conformity to criteria set by TSE in cases where no Turkish Standard yet exists for that product. Both are issued by the Turkish Standards Institution, but the reference they are based on is different.
Scope of the TSEK 304 Criteria
TSEK 304 is the certificate of conformity to criteria defined for water tanks. The certificate shows that the product is manufactured in accordance with the relevant criteria accepted by TSE.
Why Does It Matter?
A water tank manufacturer holding a TSEK 304 certificate means that the product’s conformity to criteria evaluated by an independent organization (TSE) is documented. This is an element of assurance taken into account in supplier selection, especially in corporate and public projects.
